Since closing on $2.5 million in funding via seed and pre-seed rounds that were announced in early April 2024, the story of the blockchain-based strategy exploration game LandRocker has been one of non-stop progress.
Its rapid pace of development is characterized by an unprecedented level of transparency that’s fast becoming the envy of the Web3 industry.
Its biggest milestone of the year was achieved on June 5th, when LandRocker finally launched its eagerly-awaited game, immersing more than 1,500 concurrent players within its expansive, space-based universe in a matter of hours. During the first day, the average player logged an impressive three-hours of gameplay, highlighting the addictive nature of its compelling gameplay, and that was followed by the first-ever special event in the LandRocker universe just a few days later.
On June 8th, LandRocker hosted its inaugural LRT Treasure Hunt contest, pitting players against each other in a mad scramble to find real-world LRT tokens. The event sparked a flurry of activity in the game, and its huge success underscored the unprecedented level of enthusiasm it has created in the wider Web3 gaming community.
Just one week after that event, LandRocker established a new standard for transparency in the blockchain industry with the launch of the first-ever Web3 Dynamic Roadmap, which is described as a “living document” that keeps track of the project’s development with unparalleled accuracy.
LandRocker built the Dynamic Roadmap to address the fact that it has one of the busiest roadmaps of any Web3 project. Its creators decided that they needed to provide a better way for its rapidly growing community to keep tabs on all the different updates and upgrades it has in its pipeline, allowing them to chart the progress of those improvements in real time.
The Dynamic Roadmap groups LandRocker’s updates into three categories – namely short-term, mid-term and long-term, based on the expected time required to implement those changes, and community members can use it to drill down and filter those that are yet to start, those in progress and those that are already completed.
For those updates that are in progress, the roadmap helps users to keep track of exactly how far they have come. With each item on the roadmap, there’s either a short video or a text explanation of the purpose behind the upgrade, together with an anticipated start and completion date. The exact status of each update is tracked in real-time using simple status bars that show how many steps have been completed thus far, and how many more must be completed.
The completion of the Dynamic Roadmap itself was one of LandRocker immediate priorities, and it was rolled out earlier this month, at the same moment as the game’s native LRT token was listed on the popular BingX exchange, expanding its availability.
Other recently completed milestones include the launch of LandRocker’s free play-to-earn mining feature, and the debut of new “skins” that can radically alter the look and capabilities of each player’s NFT-based rover.
Looking forward, there are dozens of expected changes on the horizon, with LandRocker working on the introduction of textual ambient sounds, environmental sounds and ambient music in the short term, enhanced staking pools in the medium term, and the introduction of generative AI music, a blockchain game health center and the launch of a new, blockchain-based help center for players. Numerous other updates are described in the latest blog post from LandRocker.
LandRocker said it believes that its dynamic roadmap will prove inspirational and ultimately help to establish new standards in terms of community expectations, clearly defining what projects can and cannot expect to achieve within a given timeframe.
