Top eSports team TSM has teamed up with Avalanche to bring blockchain technology to its competitive gaming platform, Blitz.
As part of this exclusive partnership, TSM will launch a custom subnet that uses the native AVAX token as gas to bring Blitz on-chain.
Avalanche-Branded Tournaments and Asset Management
TSM has big plans for its partnership with Avalanche, including hosting Avalanche-branded tournaments on the Blitz subnet. These tournaments will offer gamers performance insights and learning tools, while also allowing players to compete for prizes. Additionally, the platform will use Avalanche asset manager Core to facilitate the buying and storing of digital assets.
“Avalanche’s fully customizable subnets were created to help organizations like TSM push the boundaries of what is possible for gaming with sub-second transaction speed, scalability, and security for millions of users”
said John Wu, president at Avalanche blockchain parent company Ava Labs
TSM’s Previous Partnership with FTX
TSM’s partnership with Avalanche follows the end of its partnership with bankrupt crypto exchange FTX in November 2022. As part of the deal with FTX, the esports league embedded FTX branding across its organization, team, and player social media profiles. The partnership with FTX was once the largest in esports history and was valued at $210 million.
The partnership between TSM and Avalanche aims to onboard millions of esports gamers into the Web3 gaming world. With the help of Avalanche’s scalable and secure blockchain platform, TSM hopes to create a more immersive and rewarding gaming experience for its players.
The Growing Adoption of Blockchain Technology in Gaming
The partnership between TSM and Avalanche is just one example of the growing adoption of blockchain technology in the gaming industry. Blockchain technology offers a range of benefits for gamers, including increased security, faster transaction times, and the ability to own and trade in-game assets.
As the Web3 gaming world continues to expand, partnerships between esports teams and blockchain platforms will likely become increasingly common. These partnerships will help drive the adoption of blockchain technology and bring the benefits of Web3 gaming to the masses.
