The Near Foundation declared a strategic partnership with BORA, a subsidiary of METABORA in the Web3 gaming industry on March 6, 2023.
This partnership aims to generate Web3 opportunities in Korea and to collaborate on cross-chain research and event hosting while supporting each other in spreading brand awareness.
BORA is an affiliate of Kakao Games and BORANETWORK with a focus on game development and blockchain-based gaming ecosystems. Vincent Lim, CBO of BORA, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and the potential for future collaborations in IP-based game development.

Following Near’s Korean Hub launch in November 2022, BORA has been working to build awareness in South Korea and concentrating on Web3 innovation, business development, education, and talent. The hub is managed by Scott Lee and Ben Kang, who are both well-known figures in South Korea’s blockchain community.
According to Robbie Lim, GM of Partners & International at Near, the partnership with BORA is the first significant accomplishment in Near’s aspiration to become the go-to layer 1 for the Web3 gaming community.
