Patrick “Rojo” Rojewski – Influencer, YouTuber with vast experience and passion for gaming. He runs an online store, engages in charitable activities and invests in serious gaming projects. A folklorist and admirer of art in the broadest sense, and a man with a unique sense of humor. Over the years he has managed to build a community of more than 2 million people across all his channels. As a gamer, he works with some of the biggest companies in the industry.
Gamepost: “Good morning, hello and forehead”, “Boom, headshot!” or “Shield!”. Patrick, your famous sayings are known to every self-respecting gamer in the world. Where do they come from? Do they have a special meaning for you?
Rojo: They are symbolic. Either – they refer to the opening greeting that fits the type of game being played, a reaction to a situation in the game, or they serve as a meaningful greeting.
GP: You are an avid paintball fighter and computer player. When did this passion start? Rumour has it that you played in your mother’s office as a child!
Rojo: If I had to go back to the absolute beginning of my passion for video games, it would be the Pegasus console and the Commodore 64 computer. I do remember games like Mario, Tanki and Contra very fondly. But it was Fallout on the PC that shaped me into a gamer aware of my calling.
GP: Besides games and the gaming community, you are also known from “Project T@RCZ@”. You actively promote games and motivate others to do the same. A warrior’s soul or a noble cause?
Rojo: I thought it was time to put an end to the sad practice of making video games the sole scapegoat in the face of some social tragedies. The industry needed its own defender. A self-appointed one, but an important and effective one. A ludologist who would draw attention to the positive aspects of interacting with games. Thus the idea was born to defend video games within the framework of “Project T@RCZ@” and to support the slogan “Games unite, not divide”
GP: What sets you apart as an active gamer is your community and approach to fans. We would love we would go to “Paintball with Rojson” – do you still have any places?
Rojo: Everyone from the age of 13 is welcome. My inclusive sports event “PZR” are family picnics where cordiality, healthy competition and a friendly atmosphere prevail.
GP: December 2010 is an important date for you. Your first video appeared on YT. Do you remember what it was? 🙂
Rojo: I uploaded the first video to this site. I wanted to share it with my friends. however, the film “Fallout Stalker Military Paintball” was not mine – I only played the main role in it. So the actual launch of my channel was 26 July 2011.
GP: 2015 was also very successful for you! You reached more than 1 million subscribers on YT! Congratulations!
Rojo: Thank you very much! I am even happier about the fact that I reached this without including the popular series of the time (e.g. from Minecraft), which brought the biggest increases. This makes it the first channel in the history of our country to reach one million as the first all-genre and themed channel.
GP: You once said: “Games unite, not divide. As in sports, the best emotions come from healthy, equal competition, from discovering new ‘patents’ and achieving new skills” Is that why you join Day of Duel?
Rojo: Yes, of course! I really appreciate being in a group of people with different interests and specialisations, but the same goal.
GP: You emphasize that co-creating DoD is the next stage you want to go through together with the community of game fans. And why?
Rojo: I think we are doing something interesting for them. Something that is still missing and that is not only fantastic fun, but can also bring a real profit. Not only for hardcore athletes, but also for casual players.
GP: We know that the platform is in beta. What games would you like to see in the DoD?
Rojo: First of all, those and only those with arcade mechanics – independent of luck, only skill.
GP: Who will be your first opponent in Day of Duel?
Rojo: I am counting on Arek Milik 😀
GP: What are the most important features of the Day of Duel platform? Obviously – from a player’s point of view. Is the platform something that does not exist in the e-sports market?
Rojo: First and foremost. An additional aspect that adds to the excitement is the earning opportunities, but also the purely competitive ones.
GP: You are a shareholder of DoD. According to the information we have received, you are focusing on smaller game titles. Why is that? What guides you in choosing the games that will appear on the platform?
Rojo: Not really. We go for smaller and bigger games. We select them depending on the skill level of the players on the platform. You certainly will not find the top 5 titles on us that are on every e-sport platform. We focus on division – advanced and less advanced games, so everyone can find something for themselves.
GP: Who is the better player? You, Arek Milik or Prescot? 😀
Rojo: Ludologist, sportsman and esports player? The answer is probably clear
GP: What is the future of Day of Duel? What are your plans for the near future?
Rojo: Firstly, we will enter the English and Polish markets next year. Our next goal is to reach 100,000 active users on the platform and 1 top title on DoD besides League of Legends. We will be the biggest e-sports platform for amateur gamers! First in Europe, then in the world 🙂
