My Neighbor Alice, the popular blockchain-based farming and builder game, has officially launched Chapter One: A New Adventure, marking its first full public release after multiple alpha seasons. This milestone brings the complete game experience to players worldwide for the first time, and represents a major achievement for both the My Neighbor Alice team and the Chromia blockchain, which provides the decentralized infrastructure powering the game.

The release introduces several key upgrades to the player experience. Users can now play directly in their browser, with no download required. A new mode also allows users to begin playing immediately without owning tokens or connecting a crypto wallet. Wallets can be created at any time within the game to mint assets or save progress.

Chromia’s gasless interaction model further enhances accessibility, enabling players to interact with game features without paying transaction fees. All core game data, including player progress and world state, is stored on-chain using Chromia’s relational architecture. This structure reduces reliance on external servers and goes beyond the ‘asset-only’ model common in other Web3 games.

“This launch is more than just a game update. It is a proof point that Web3 can deliver the same seamless experience as Web2: no downloads, no wallets, just pure gameplay,” says Steve Haßenpflug, VP of Games at My Neighbor Alice. “With Chapter One, we are showcasing the future of gaming. Open, accessible, and built for the community.”

Henrik Hjelte, Co-Founder of Chromia, added: “This launch is a major milestone, not only for My Neighbor Alice but for Chromia as a platform. It shows how our architecture can power complex, persistent virtual worlds while keeping the experience smooth and user-friendly.”

Coinciding with the game launch, the ALICE token has been implemented on Chromia mainnet, enabling native token functionality directly within the game. While ALICE is not required to play, it unlocks additional features and offers deeper engagement with the in-game economy.

The launch also follows a collaboration with Pudgy Penguins, giving NFT holders exclusive in-game features. Each of the 40,000 Pudgy NFTs has been recreated as a fully animated 3D companion, further demonstrating the game’s cross-project appeal.

My Neighbor Alice: Chapter One is now live and available to play at myneighboralice.com.
