Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence center of Alibaba Group, is set to launch a blockchain laboratory in Shibuya, Japan, this April. The lab is intended to help Japanese game developers identify commercial opportunities presented by the Web3 era.
Incubation Center for Game Creators
To keep up with competition in the Web3 age, the new lab will serve as an incubation center where game creators can meet and learn about the latest blockchain technology. According to Alibaba, engineers from partner firms that specialize in Alibaba Cloud and blockchain will be on-site to provide technical assistance.
Collaboration with Tokyu Real Estate and Skeleton Crew Studio
The lab will be accessible to a select group of customers and hackathon participants who are involved in the development of joint projects with Alibaba Cloud. Tokyu Real Estate Co., Ltd., and Skeleton Crew Studio, a game and VR content creation studio, played a pivotal role in the establishment of this lab.
Alibaba Cloud’s Web3 Partner Ecosystem
Regular seminars, workshops, and networking events will enable developers to learn about and discuss the latest developments in Web3 technology. Developers will also have direct access to Alibaba Cloud’s Web3 partner ecosystem, which includes Safeheron, NodeReal, and COCOS-BCX.
Safeheron provides a secure place for institutional investors to keep their digital assets. A blockchain infrastructure significantly enhances the speed, scalability, and overall performance of Web3 video game development projects. NodeReal, a significant video distributor, is included in this package. COCOS-BCX, on the other hand, is a supplier of scaling solutions for the Web3 gaming environment.
Opportunities in the Game Industry
Unique Song, country manager of Alibaba Cloud Japan, emphasized the increasing opportunities for content development and digital technology in various industries, particularly in the game field. He also noted the active Web3 community in Japan and said that Alibaba Cloud provides robust, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure, technology platforms, and intelligence tools for Web3 developers in Japan.
Blockchain Node Service in Japan
Alibaba Cloud also plans to provide a blockchain node service in Japan by the end of the year. The service is currently being tested by users who have been invited, making the experience of working with Alibaba Cloud’s scalable, efficient, and secure infrastructure more user-friendly for developers.
