Tech giant Amazon is reportedly planning to launch its NFT marketplace next month.

According to reports, the platform will start offering the service to U.S. customers first and gradually roll out to other countries.

15 NFT Collections to be Available on Launch Day

Amazon will reportedly offer about 15 NFT collections on the launch day of the Amazon NFT Marketplace. The NFT collections will be available on Amazon’s website and can be accessed by clicking the “Amazon Digital Marketplace” tab. Customers can purchase NFTs only through their Amazon account and with a credit card.

NFT Service for People Without Crypto Wallets

Amazon’s NFT service will allow people who do not have access to crypto wallets like Metamask to purchase NFTs. The platform claims to have been planning the launch of its NFT services since last year but was delayed following the collapse of FTX.

Crypto Ties of Amazon

Amazon’s partnership with Ava Labs in January aimed to accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology. With the launch of the Amazon NFT Marketplace, Amazon takes another step into the Web3 ecosystem. It joins other giants like Meta and Google.

Amazon’s Partnership with Chainlink and VeChainThor

Amazon Web Services (AWS) had also partnered with Chainlink (LINK) for the node-creation solution. Furthermore, AWS had also tied up with the public blockchain VeChainThor for blockchain-based carbon management services.

Amazon Plans to Reward Customers with Free NFTs

Earlier reports have suggested that Amazon is planning to make its customers play crypto games and reward them with free NFTs. The company appears to be pushing its Amazon NFT plan for launch in the next quarter.

In conclusion, the launch of the Amazon NFT Marketplace next month is a significant step in the mainstream adoption of NFTs. With Amazon’s massive customer base, it can attract more people to the world of NFTs. Furthermore, Amazon’s tie-ups with Chainlink, VeChainThor, and Ava Labs demonstrate the company’s commitment to blockchain technology. With the promise of free NFTs for playing crypto games, Amazon aims to make NFTs more accessible to the general public.
